COLCHAGUA VALLEY, CHILE
OUR MOST TALKED ABOUT LIMITED RELEASE IS BACK AND EVEN BETTER!
Our medal-winning 2005 Limited Release Carmenère created nothing but enthusiastic comment. Now Carmenère is back but with grapes from what has become the new, premiere region in Chile.

Grapes now sourced from the Colchagua Valley.
The Colchagua was named 2005 Wine Region of the Year by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. A region which has been exploding on the world wine map and now produces more Carmenère than anywhere else on earth. When announcing the award, Wine Enthusiast stated, “ Within the country (Chile) no other region has distinguished itself as being more capable of producing world-class reds than the Colchagua Valley.”*
Includes a Crushed Grape Pack made with virgin Colchagua Valley Carmenère grapes.
The Grapes
Harvested from a vineyard owned by a pioneering family in the Marchigue area of the valley. Sand, clay, and volcanic soil over a granite bedrock helps control yield for high varietal concentration.
Bright sunny days and nights cooled by the high Andes and the nearby Pacific make for intense flavour develop-ment that is the hallmark of the area. The vineyard supplies fruit for some of the top-ranked wines of the Colchagua. We are indeed proud to offer you product from an area and vineyard with such quality and pedigree.
The Wine
Multi-flavoured Carmenère from Colchagua shows best when processed with extended oak contact. Again we utilize our break-through, two-stage oaking system. Hungarian oak shavings are introduced at the start of fermentation, then lightly toasted Hungarian oak cubes are used for further extraction during the post-fermentation stage.
The oaks together add surprisingly soft tannins, subtle toast and vanilla which provide a terrific back-drop to the
aromas and flavours of blackberry, black cherry, tropical fruit, and spice from the grapes. With age, notes of coffee, mocha, and tobacco can be expected along with a mineral tang that forms as part of the lengthy finish.
The wine is medium to full-bodied with bright ruby colour. Its charm will begin to show after six months of cellaring, and it should continue to develop for at least two years.
Multi-layered flavours and soft tannins make the wine very food friendly. An easy choice for all red meats, fowl, pork, and tomato-sauced dishes. Perhaps the perfect House Red.
